Professional help is required to diagnose whether one has halitosis or not. Some of the crucial aspects to take into account for the diagnosis are: a good health status, a healthy lifestyle and a good oral health. It is also required a quantitative measurement of halitosis.
Treatment
The treatment of halitosis looks for diminishing the amount of bacteria causing bad smell, located at the back of the tongue and in the periodontal pocket, and eliminating smelly products.
To solve this problem, people usually have their teeth professionally cleaned and then, they are recommended to keep a good oral hygiene: brushing your teeth and an interproximal cleaning, using a tongue cleaner and mouthwash.
